MissNYT’s Entertainment Weekly

Hello world this is your girl MissNYT reporting another hot week of your entertainment news:

Apparently there were rumors Bobbi Kristina walked off the set of Tyler Perry’s TV show “For Better or Worse” this week and now Mr. Perry is mad.  He is not mad at Bobbi but at whoever is behind the rumors because according to him this incident never happened.  Mr. Perry took to his website to discuss the rumors, writing:

“There is no way that she could have walked off the set because we have finished taping the season. Were there tough days for her? Yes of course. Not because of the acting or any job-related issues but because of the fact that she had just lost her mother. So yes she was grieving, but grief aside, she managed to finish her obligation and did a great job at the same time.”

Rumors about Bobbi Kristina being a diva is untrue and Tyler’s pissed!

Am I the only person who felt like Tyler was addressing us in his Madea voice! Well Thank Yer Tyler for clearing the air about Bobbi Kristina!!!!

LEAVE THAT BAAAAAAAAAAABY ALONE DAMIT!

Well Britney Spears DID walk off the set of her first taping of X-Factor this week. Word is Brit Brit got up and stormed off the set after a contestant butchered her song “Hold It Against Me”.  Four other contestants went on to perform before Britney returned to her seat. Now Britney’s camp is saying the story is not true and that she simply took a break! SMH!!!  Well now I am really interested in this upcoming season of X-Factor to see if Britney will have another meltdown and go Amber Rose on us!!

Britney don’t let big bucks get in the way of her DIVA-lish ways.

Finally Jessica Simpson introduced her newborn daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson to the world on the latest cover of People Magazine. Word is Jessica and her fiancé Eric Johnson earned $800,000 for the pictures. WOW! The money doesn’t stop there for Jessica as she was just offered a $4 million contract to be the new spokesperson for Weight Watchers! Jessica stays winning……not mad at all.

Win Win Win is all Jessica Simpson do. Throw your hands up!

There you have it another exciting week in Hollywood but Always remember to leave the gossiping to me. ~MissNYT

Spring 2012 Trend: Printed Jeans

In those printed jeans! So fresh, So clean, So pretty! Guess you can see Outkast is playing in my head today. I absolutely love the printed denim trends this season. But where does a girl start when she’s trying to outfit herself for a cool event?

pic: denimtherapy.com

There are guidelines that one can follow should follow to rock pretty cool trend. According to the experts the girls should do the following when it comes to the printed jeans trend of 2012:

1. Treat the prints in your jeans as an accessory. The prints in your jeans are the focal point of your outfit.

2. Pair printed jeans with a neutral solid. Most people can not pull off the printed look from head to toe. A solid color brings balance and attention to the main accessory the printed jeans.

3. If you are adventurous and choose to rock the printed look for head to toe remember to pick out a neutral color for your handbags and shoes.

4.  Stay away from the color Black. White keeps the look current and fresh.

5. Neon bags are cool when you are rocking the printed pants look. Remember you don’t have to match your hand bag with your shoes. Be BOLD! Rock that neon bag.

Printed jeans are a must for Spring 2012; whether you be a PRETTY ROCKER CHICKLET or an ULTRA GIRLIE PRETTY GIRL.

How have you styled your printed jeans this season?

Are you sexy?

by Noreen Sumpter, Personal Life Coach

Are you sexy, the cat’s meow, all that and a bag of chips?

If you can not answer this question openly, you might have an issue.

If you think the statement is presumptuous, then you might have an issue.

If you agree with this statement, others might have an issue with you. Do you care?

I think I am all that and a bag of chips.  I went out with a male friend of mine the other night.  When I walked in the door, he said to me “ You look sexy tonight.”  I replied with “I am sexy all the time.” He asked me who said that.  I replied I did.  He then said, “You’re not sexy until I tell you are.”  I laughed.  I also told him that “I am like a self-cleaning oven; I self-validate.”   We laughed. I’m sure for different reasons.  I, for my ability to self-valid, and he for God only knows what.  What I do know is you can be as sexy as you choose.

Pic: alleyesonwho.com

Are you sexy? Take a minute to think about that question. Then answer this. Who do you think you are?  Who are you intuitively? Are you confident enough to say ”I AM SEXY” with pride?

pic: fashionbombdaily.com

So who do you think you are can be translated as: I am a woman, I am black, I am tall, I am English, I am a Confidence and Self-esteem coach, daughter of Mr. and Ms. Johnson5’8, and etc.

Who do you think you are has nothing to do with any of those statistics.  That is not the kind of who do you think you are that I am even remotely interested in. However, that is not to say that those descriptions are not interesting.  They are the kinds of facts that you share with people when you first meet them.  Somewhat boring and mundane, not the meat and potatoes of whom you are.

I’m interested in the following:

What do you love about your life?

What are you passionate about?

What are you interested in?

What do you want to be remembered for?

What are you proud of?

What do people say they love about you?

What contribution have you made and to whom?

What’s one thing that no one knows about you that you wish they did?

What are you willing to share about yourself?

What are you afraid of?

What’s the most courageous thing that you have ever done for another?

Next week we will talk about what these answers mean to you and how you can answer them everyday in all of your actions.

MissNYT’s Entertainment Weekly

Hello world this is your girl MissNYT here again reporting another hot week of your entertainment news:

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg married his longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan this past weekend.  The media got a tip about the marriage when Mark updated his Facebook status to “married”. (Serious)  The couple held their wedding in Mark’s backyard in Palo Alto, CA in front of 100 guests.  Get this….Mark got married the day after Facebook stock went public clearly to establish his pre-marriage net worth! Hmmmm It does sound fishy but Priscilla aka Mrs. Facebook is still paid!

Meet Mr. & Mrs. Facebook

Looks like T-Boz may need to borrow some money from someone because she is getting her car taken away.  Word is she is being sued by Honda for not making payments on her 2005 Honda Odyssey.  If you remember T-Boz filed for bankruptcy in 2011 but failed to file the correct paperwork to protect her from situations like this. Damn!!!!!  Since she will now be forced to sit in the passenger side will that officially make her a scrub!

T-Boz’s 2005 Honda Odyssey Repoed

I am sad to report that Disco Queen Donna Summer died last week from her battle with cancer. Following her death her album sales increased 3277%. Donna was 63-year-old. RIP

Flattering Spring 2012 Trend: The Peplum Dress

Solange rocked a beautiful yellow peplum gown at the Met Gala

pic: glamazons.com

The peplum is a throw back style from the Pretty Girls of the 1980′s.

pic: brighteyedandbare.blogspot.com

Peplum cinches the waist and the frilly hip action draws your attention away from waist. Perfect for us girls!

pic: cocoaandcreme.com

The peplum trend is super flattering with the wider shape around your waist. It gives the illusion of a small waist.

pic: www.refinery29.com

Cues on the Commodores’ Brick House! I am jamming thinking about the PEPLUM and its flattering shape.

This trend both formal and informal is so much fun and a great addition for all pretty girls this season!  Got your peplum dress yet?

Let the man be a man!

(Inspired by think like a man)

I do believe that you should let a man be a man. Everyone’s definition of what a man is and should do is different, so this will have different meanings in different households. I am not suggesting a woman be helpless or even dependent on a man, instead, I am suggesting you allow your man to do what he is capable of doing and stay in your lane while he does it. A good relationship should run like a team; everyone has a job and it’s their responsibility to make sure it gets done. If he’s the quarterback in your relationship, let him throw or pass you the ball. You can’t throw it to yourself.

Are you playing for the same team?

So many strong women make the mistake of being TOO strong. If you can pay all your bills, fix your own car, take yourself out to dinner, etc.; that’s fine. It’s actually great, but where are you making room for someone else in your life. You don’t have to throw it in the man’s face all of what you are capable of accomplishing by yourself. This sends the message; “I don’t want you because I don’t need you.” Instead make room in your life for him, before you find yourself rolling solo to all your +1 events.

Miss. Independent

My mother has always had this knack for running the show, while not making it obvious that she’s really in charge. She is the puppeteer from a far. You can still run the show without being an emasculating drill sergeant.

Pic: www.madamenoire.com

Every man is not built to be your man. I don’t suggest you bestow the honor and privilege on an unworthy party, but if he’s qualified; let him. The same way women want to feel desired and appreciated; men do too.

MissNYT’s Entertainment Weekly

Hello world this is your girl MissNYT reporting another hot week of your entertainment news:

Since President Barack Obama announced that he was in favor of gay marriage several celebrities have come out to support the president’s comments. Jay-Z is the latest celebrity who supports Obama and his view that gay marriage should be legal. He said that he believed that not allowing gays to marry was holding America back and that whatever a person does in their home is no one else’s business. He compared it to discrimination against blacks as well. Well alright Jay-Z! You still have 99 problems but at least gay marriage ain’t one!!!!

Jigga What? Yeah Jay-Z supports President Obama’s stance on gay marriage.

Jennifer Lopez has decided not to return to American Idol next season due to her busy schedule. The singer/actress and mother of twins believes that she has too much on the table with an upcoming tour and movie. Ms. Lopez was getting paid $20 million each season to judge a singing competition when she clearly is not a singer herself. Girl you betta stay on that show… American Idol was the most success you had since your J. LO cd in 2001.

Jlo is leaving American Idol.

Last but not least I want to say happy birthday to Janet Jackson who turned 46 this week. I swear Miss Jackson keeps getting better looking with age.

Happy 46th Birthday Ms. Jackson!

Fitting Education and Personal Development into Your Already Busy Schedule

Working women in the 21st century who want to earn college degrees or simply to take classes for personal enrichment have more opportunities than ever. Online college classes are available to help working moms with busy careers and social lives go back to school. Whether she’s looking to increase her earning power with a college degree or to become more knowledgeable in one of her many interests, online college is an attractive option for the modern woman.

Online Learning for Working Women

Pic: Oraclespeak@wordpress.com

It’s not surprising that the majority of students enrolled in online college are working adults. Online learning offers the opportunity to earn a bachelor’s or associates degree from home, on a flexible schedule. This is crucial for women for whom working a full-time job while attending an on-campus program just isn’t feasible. Online degree programs have gained more credibility since the Internet has become ubiquitous. The most important thing is to make sure to choose an accredited online education program. Accredited online schools are those that have the approval of an accreditation agency. For a smart, professional working woman, checking your sources is a must when choosing an online program. Employers look for new employees with degrees from accredited schools.

Going Back to College as a Mom

Having children is the biggest obstacle for many women earning college degrees. Pregnancy is the most common reason for women undergraduates to leave college. More women attend college than men, but slightly more male college students graduate. Raising children while attending an on-campus program isn’t possible for a working or stay-at-home mother. Online learning is changing the opportunities available for women with families. Online college affords mothers the opportunity to earn an advanced degree from home on a flexible schedule; with online learning, more moms are going back to school. Online degrees are helping more women advance in their professional lives to shatter the glass ceiling and close the earning gap between genders. Having children used to be an obstacle towards professional success and personal development, but it doesn’t need to be difficult with the help of the Internet.

Financial Aid Options

Pic: www.educationgrant.com

There are financial aid options available for women enrolling in online programs as well as those applying for on-campus programs. For women who know their intended fields of study, grants and scholarships may be available from businesses looking to hire more women. These business scholarships are especially available for science and aviation majors. Other options include scholarships and grants specifically for women based on their domestic situations. Financial aid specifically for working mothers helps many women go back to school. Scholarships are also available for women based on ethnicity, income, or gender. These types of scholarships for women in male-dominated areas, mothers, women of color, and lower-income women are aimed at increasing the ratio of women to men with college degrees. Scholarships for online programs make it possible for mothers on a budget to become pilots, engineers or teachers while still fitting in a social life and working full time.
