Hello world this is your girl MissNYT here again reporting another hot week of your entertainment news:
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg married his longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan this past weekend. The media got a tip about the marriage when Mark updated his Facebook status to “married”. (Serious) The couple held their wedding in Mark’s backyard in Palo Alto, CA in front of 100 guests. Get this….Mark got married the day after Facebook stock went public clearly to establish his pre-marriage net worth! Hmmmm It does sound fishy but Priscilla aka Mrs. Facebook is still paid!
Looks like T-Boz may need to borrow some money from someone because she is getting her car taken away. Word is she is being sued by Honda for not making payments on her 2005 Honda Odyssey. If you remember T-Boz filed for bankruptcy in 2011 but failed to file the correct paperwork to protect her from situations like this. Damn!!!!! Since she will now be forced to sit in the passenger side will that officially make her a scrub!
I am sad to report that Disco Queen Donna Summer died last week from her battle with cancer. Following her death her album sales increased 3277%. Donna was 63-year-old. RIP
There you have it another exciting week in Hollywood but ALWAYS REMEMBER TO LEAVE THE GOSSIPING TO ME! ~MissNYT

Solange rocked a beautiful yellow peplum gown at the Met Gala.

The peplum is a throw back style from the Pretty Girls of the 1980′s.

Peplum cinches the waist and the frilly hip action draws your attention away from waist. Perfect for us girls!

pic: cocoaandcreme.com
The peplum trend is super flattering with the wider shape around your waist. It gives the illusion of a small waist.

Cues on the Commodores’ Brick House! I am jamming thinking about the PEPLUM and its flattering shape.
This trend both formal and informal is so much fun and a great addition for all pretty girls this season! Got your peplum dress yet?

(Inspired by think like a man)
I do believe that you should let a man be a man. Everyone’s definition of what a man is and should do is different, so this will have different meanings in different households. I am not suggesting a woman be helpless or even dependent on a man, instead, I am suggesting you allow your man to do what he is capable of doing and stay in your lane while he does it. A good relationship should run like a team; everyone has a job and it’s their responsibility to make sure it gets done. If he’s the quarterback in your relationship, let him throw or pass you the ball. You can’t throw it to yourself.
So many strong women make the mistake of being TOO strong. If you can pay all your bills, fix your own car, take yourself out to dinner, etc.; that’s fine. It’s actually great, but where are you making room for someone else in your life. You don’t have to throw it in the man’s face all of what you are capable of accomplishing by yourself. This sends the message; “I don’t want you because I don’t need you.” Instead make room in your life for him, before you find yourself rolling solo to all your +1 events.

My mother has always had this knack for running the show, while not making it obvious that she’s really in charge. She is the puppeteer from a far. You can still run the show without being an emasculating drill sergeant.

Pic: www.madamenoire.com
Every man is not built to be your man. I don’t suggest you bestow the honor and privilege on an unworthy party, but if he’s qualified; let him. The same way women want to feel desired and appreciated; men do too.

Hello world this is your girl MissNYT reporting another hot week of your entertainment news:
Since President Barack Obama announced that he was in favor of gay marriage several celebrities have come out to support the president’s comments. Jay-Z is the latest celebrity who supports Obama and his view that gay marriage should be legal. He said that he believed that not allowing gays to marry was holding America back and that whatever a person does in their home is no one else’s business. He compared it to discrimination against blacks as well. Well alright Jay-Z! You still have 99 problems but at least gay marriage ain’t one!!!!
Jennifer Lopez has decided not to return to American Idol next season due to her busy schedule. The singer/actress and mother of twins believes that she has too much on the table with an upcoming tour and movie. Ms. Lopez was getting paid $20 million each season to judge a singing competition when she clearly is not a singer herself. Girl you betta stay on that show… American Idol was the most success you had since your J. LO cd in 2001.
Last but not least I want to say happy birthday to Janet Jackson who turned 46 this week. I swear Miss Jackson keeps getting better looking with age.

Working women in the 21st century who want to earn college degrees or simply to take classes for personal enrichment have more opportunities than ever. Online college classes are available to help working moms with busy careers and social lives go back to school. Whether she’s looking to increase her earning power with a college degree or to become more knowledgeable in one of her many interests, online college is an attractive option for the modern woman.
Online Learning for Working Women

Pic: Oraclespeak@wordpress.com
It’s not surprising that the majority of students enrolled in online college are working adults. Online learning offers the opportunity to earn a bachelor’s or associates degree from home, on a flexible schedule. This is crucial for women for whom working a full-time job while attending an on-campus program just isn’t feasible. Online degree programs have gained more credibility since the Internet has become ubiquitous. The most important thing is to make sure to choose an accredited online education program. Accredited online schools are those that have the approval of an accreditation agency. For a smart, professional working woman, checking your sources is a must when choosing an online program. Employers look for new employees with degrees from accredited schools.
Going Back to College as a Mom

Having children is the biggest obstacle for many women earning college degrees. Pregnancy is the most common reason for women undergraduates to leave college. More women attend college than men, but slightly more male college students graduate. Raising children while attending an on-campus program isn’t possible for a working or stay-at-home mother. Online learning is changing the opportunities available for women with families. Online college affords mothers the opportunity to earn an advanced degree from home on a flexible schedule; with online learning, more moms are going back to school. Online degrees are helping more women advance in their professional lives to shatter the glass ceiling and close the earning gap between genders. Having children used to be an obstacle towards professional success and personal development, but it doesn’t need to be difficult with the help of the Internet.
Financial Aid Options

Pic: www.educationgrant.com
There are financial aid options available for women enrolling in online programs as well as those applying for on-campus programs. For women who know their intended fields of study, grants and scholarships may be available from businesses looking to hire more women. These business scholarships are especially available for science and aviation majors. Other options include scholarships and grants specifically for women based on their domestic situations. Financial aid specifically for working mothers helps many women go back to school. Scholarships are also available for women based on ethnicity, income, or gender. These types of scholarships for women in male-dominated areas, mothers, women of color, and lower-income women are aimed at increasing the ratio of women to men with college degrees. Scholarships for online programs make it possible for mothers on a budget to become pilots, engineers or teachers while still fitting in a social life and working full time.

Only about 3% of the 4,000 animal species are monogamous. Of that 3%, not including humans, only one species mates for life. The male anglerfish finds a mate and fuses itself to the female anglerfish. Their bodies begin to grow together and share food. Ultimately, the male anglerfish becomes a sperm-producing organ, completely dependent on the female for survival. The male fish ultimately becomes nothing more than a means for the female fish to reproduce.

So, is it possible? Is it possible to be with one person for life?
I think each situation is unique. When did the relationship begin? How much whoring has the couple done outside of each other before marriage or long-term commitment? Regardless of gender, I think that some people are just wired to be serial monogamists. Most of these people are women, but there are some men that find that special one and then hold on.

What did couples do fifty years ago to remain together? Drink excessively? Seriously, the divorce rate has seen a steady increase over the last fifty years. Moreover, in the early 1900’s a marriage could only be ended if there was proof of adultery or cruelty. These days many marriages don’t make it past the first year.
Five potential reasons marriages USED to last forever:
- Grow together - How many older women have you heard say they “learned” to love their husband? People grow and change constantly. It is imperative to remain on the same page as your mate. Share activities and hobbies in common, while maintaining some separation. Too much of anything is bad; I don’t care if it’s chocolate cake or a good man. Give each other time to miss one another. Absence does make the heart grow fonder.

Couples grew together once upon a time.
- Let a man be a man- People who don’t know me well would be surprised to learn that I am very old-fashioned. I do believe in “men’s” work and “women’s” work. That doesn’t mean that a man can’t cook a meal every now and then or a woman can’t put air in her own tire, but household framework makes the house strong. So, I don’t have a problem with handling the cooking, cleaning, or anything else domestic. But, trust and believe, my man better protect our house from harm, kill all bugs, take out the trash, and lift heavy things. On a serious note, define chores and duties in the household to create harmony and a sense of accountability.

- Communicate - Communication is important. Talk on a regular basis. I don’t mean dishing dirt on friends and family or complaining about work. Take the time out to share your goals and dreams with your partner, and take the time to actually listen to each other.

Pic courtesy of: www.heartandsoul.com
- Never stop dating - So many relationships get stale because you get comfortable. My grandfather called my grandmother “Love” until the day he died, and he said it with a love in his eyes that you don’t see every day. Take time to make your partner feel special and wanted. If you don’t someone else may do it for you. When you first started dating, a random rendezvous could happen on a Tuesday evening. Keep the spontaneity of dating an element in your relationship.

Pic Courtesy of: www.twogethermarriages.blogspot.com
- Be patient - When all else fails, the key to a successful relationship is to be as passive aggressive as possible. Just kidding. Seriously, even when your mate has habits that drive you insane, let it go. Everything is not worth fighting over. An old boyfriend once told me that I was perfect. I know that I am not perfect in the classic sense of the word, but he meant I was perfect for him despite my flaws. Make your mate truly believe that they are perfect for you.

In the end, society might be past the notion of marriage forever “Until death do us part.”. People have been reciting those vows for years, but they have become empty words. Marry someone with honest eyes, someone you can talk to for hours, and someone who can make you laugh. When the passion fades, you will need something to get through the years. So, why do you think the anglerfish make it work? Is it because of the short life span of the male? Or maybe people are only meant to be monogamous for short periods of time? I think we just need to take a page from our grandparent’s generation. Marry for a love that will grow with the years.

Hello world this is your girl MissNYT here again reporting another hot week of your entertainment news
It seems like Rihanna made some people mad on the set of Saturday Night Live when she was a musical guest last weekend. It wasn’t her crotch grabbing dance routine that got people upset but her not showing up for dress rehearsal . Word is Rihanna was “too sick” to go through the dress rehearsal and had a stand in take her place. Lorne Michaels the HPIC (Head Producer in Charge) was not happy and felt disrespected because according to him no one skips out on rehearsal. What is going on with Rhi Rhi? Is this the beginning of her spiraling out of control? I hope we are not witnessing the next Lindsay Lohan!
Earlier this week the A-list stars and fashion designers were all out in NYC for the 2012 Met Ball held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Anyone who was anyone was there except for Kim Kardashian because she was banned from the event. Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour (HBIC) who is also the co-chair the event is just not a fan of Kim. Anna approves every star’s invitation to the ball and apparently doesn’t think Kim belongs with that crowd. Not even her new boyfriend Kanye West who was at the event could get her in. It sad to say but I have to agree with Anna. It’s just something about Kim interacting with really talented people that just doesn’t sit right with me!
