I had the opportunity to check out a very cool store by the name of Five Below over the holidays. I will be totally honest with you guys; I had never heard of Five Below. I was asked to put together a fun shopping guide for the pre-teens and teenagers in my life.
As a pretty girl with no kids and very few young adults in my life this was going to be an interesting task that I jumped at. I reached out to my little cousin Olivia (she’s 16 and very fashionable) and asked her if she would be willing to go shopping for me and then report back her findings. But then I decided to go investigate Five Below before handing her over some money to blow. To my surprise Five Below is totally awesome!!!!
I walked around the store and quickly racked up shopping ideas for family, friends, co-workers, and myself. They have the coolest toys from Lego, Wilson, Hasbro, Peeps, Disney, and Marvel products such as Star Wars, Despicable Me, Frozen, and Avengers. They have everything from trendy t-shirts, fashion jewelry, hair accessories, warm booties, workout gear, pajamas, a dynamic cosmetic counter, toys for little kids ranging from baby dolls to Atlanta Falcons footballs. Then I came across the biggest and most tastiest candy counter in ATLANTA. It took everything out of me not to buy all their hot tamales and peeps! I live for and love FAT FREE CANDY! The coolest thing about Five Below is that everything is $1 to $5 and it’s quality products.
I walked around Five Below and took pictures so I could have a mental Rolodex to help me compile my gift giving guide. I even connected with the store manager of the Sandy Spring’s location and she told me that Five Below is an all around shopping experience that any savvy shopper could and would enjoy but most importantly it’s a great place to purchase items for the young people in your life. According to my manager Five Below is the “YES” store! All I could do was smile and say “YES!”. So after my initial trip; I decided to just gift my cousin with something cute and cool but to do the shopping myself.
Fast forward to this weekend I was chatting with my line sister whose a super teacher in the Atlanta Public School System. She was casually telling me how she needed to hit the mall to purchase her students items for Christmas. Her school is a Title One school and most of her students lack the essentials and she has to help supplement with school supplies, clothing, and lots of other things. She uses the holidays as an opportunity to purchase toiletries, books, and sometimes clothes to help her kids survive the cold months. I decided then and there to DONATE my shopping excursion to her class.
She was able to purchase warm socks, books, and coloring books for her entire class with the money that SheSpeaks/Five Below sent me to do this review. Tis the season to be #prettycharitable!
