Rosie Perez is doing amazing things these including a new gig on ABC’s “The View”, gearing up for “Fish in at the Dark” on Broadway, lots of pretty charitable acts through her non-profit Urban Arts Partnership, and how launching her new book “Handbook for an Unpredictable Life“.This is one busy pretty girl but she made time to stop through Atlanta and host a book review party at Mali Hunter‘s Tree Sound Studio. The evening was full of yummy food thanks to Mali and her culinary skills, drinks, and wonderful conversation.
The invitation only event was full of media, industry taste makers, celebrities, and lucky fans who got a chance to sit comfortably in the studio and listen to Rosie and Mali discuss the new book. Some lucky guests got the chance to ask questions and everybody got the opportunity to marvel at the pretty girl whose personal life is as dynamic as her successful career that includes television, film, theater, dance, and hip hop.
I learned a couple of things about Ms. Perez last night including:
Rosie Perez runs a pretty charitable organization called Urban Arts Partnership that works with youth in New York and Los Angeles. She calls it an elevated “School House Rocks. She wants her students to be civic-minded and problem solvers.
She shared that by writing her book she has learned that pain is not exclusive to poor people of color. So many times you think money is an antidote from having a HARD LIFE. She said that many people that she least expected were able to relate to the “Handbook for an Unpredictable Life“.
Rosie Perez is very competitive. She’s been dancing since she was a young girl. She learned tap dance but confided that she was too stubby to do synchronize swimming or ballet. She shares that she was very active in sports growing up and that it taught her how to FIGHT for what she wants. She also LOVES boxing. She says that a pretty girl can enjoy a boxing match if she understands the sport.
Rosie’s Pretty Tip:
Rosie Perez is known for her pretty hair. She shared with a smile that she takes an abundance of Biotin. She shared that her aunt had her drinking Aloe Vera Juice to help with her hair, skin, and nails. She suggests that you mix it with some sort of juice because alone it tastes terrible. She also condition wash only. The pretty star shared,
Think of Woolite and your delicates. Woolite is a conditioner of sorts. We have learned that if you use detergents excessively it will wear our garments down. Shampoo is a detergent; if you wash your hair with it excessively it will wear your hair down. I condition wash only.
It was an amazing evening listening to this pretty girl! As she curled up in her chair and read the preface of the book; I can’t wait to delve into her new book. Rosie shares that life might deal you a bad hand but at any time you can ask for a new one! Swoon, I love a good story!
Be sure to get you a copy of Handbook for an Unpredictable Life” and check her out on ‘ABC’s The View’.
