As a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, I have been in PINK & GREEN heaven thanks to Atlanta being the host city of our 67th Boule. The week has been full of sisterly love, pretty dresses, charitable events, and some of the biggest parties to ever grace the city of Atlanta. Alpha Kappa Alpha is the nation’s first Greek-lettered sorority established and incorporated by African-American college women. Membership is for college educated women that’s not limited just to an undergraduate experience. Our membership includes women from all walks of life since the founding on January 15, 1908 on the campus of Howard University. Atlanta played hostess to the sorority’s 67th National Boule over the week and it’s truly been a beautiful week of sisterhood and fun.
To kick off the Atlanta Boule experience, I had the pleasure of working as a media sponsor for the Alphas of Atlanta as they rolled out a beautiful pink and green carpet for the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha to get their party on and enjoy the essence of being a member of the Phirst Family. The affair was hosted at Atlanta’s beautiful 200 Peachtree an event facility in the heart of downtown. Guests were welcomed by a team of Alphas who supplied the ladies with souvenir fans and made it know that the evening was all about their enjoyment. The party included 2 ball rooms that housed a live band and a live DJ. Guests were invited to mingle between rooms, pose for pictures, and have a good time dancing to today’s and yesterday’s biggest hits.
I had a ball catching up with old friends and making new acquaintances at the posh affair. Check out the photos that we captured of the night’s events and we welcome you to learn more by visiting #AlphasofAtlanta via social media.
