Taraji P. Henson made an appearance in Jay-Z’s “Picasso Baby” and while most had a lot to say about the music I was left wondering about Taraji’s hair regimen.
I feel like Taraji has one of the best heads of hair in Hollywood. By looking at it I can tell she spends a lot of time and energy maintaining it. It is always so vibrant and pretty. Taraji is one of the few black women in Hollywood who rocks her natural tresses. I have long been a fan of Taraji’s acting and her pretty hair.
Ok back to “Picasso Baby; as a lover of music I was excited to see the video premiere on HBO. I knew that it was going to be a cinematic masterpiece; why else would it be premiering on HBO?

As I watched the video my mind began to wonder. The video was staged at Milk Studios and I totally saw what he was trying to do but it felt forced. REAL ART should feel natural and unforced. So many people think that ART is “Picasso” and “Rembrandt”. Honestly I feel like Jay-Z rapping in front of a group of children in a “Hard Knock Life” was more poetic than this mausoleum sort of film.
“Picasso Baby” felt very much forced and contrive with the infusion of classical art, Hip Hop, and the cast of celebrity friends that included Taraji, Fab Five Freddy, Rosie Perez, Wale, fashion designer Cynthia Rowley and visual artist, Marina Abramovic. I understand the need for diversity but I feel like there should be more of an emphasis on having fun and showing that popular culture is indeed ART!
You might be wondering why I am writing about “Picasso Baby” well Taraji’s hair caught my attention in the video. Guess it’s just that simple; did not really care for the video but Taraji’s hair receives an A+ from me.
From what I can tell she is natural. She use protective styles such as braid and weaves to maintain the health of her hair. She also is very fit and I am sure her diet and exercise regimen plays a big role in the health of her hair.
What did you think of Picasso Baby? What are your thoughts on Taraji’s hair?
