My favorite group, Outkast (Antwan “Big Boi” Patton and André “3000” Benjamin) announced today that they are hosting a concert in Atlanta entitled #ATLast. The revered group has confirmed that they will curate and headline a homecoming show in Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park on Saturday, September 27. Additional artists will be announced in coming weeks. The show’s supporting partners are Atlanta’s own V103 (WVEE FM), Creative Loafing, Rival Entertainment and Bowery Presents.
Big Boi had the following to say about #ATLast,
“It’s only right that we give the hometown what we’ve been giving the rest of the world, Atliens in ATL, homecoming! Festival Killers!”
André 3000 had this to say about #ATLast,
“Coming from Atlanta gave us the freedom to be whatever we ever wanted to be because no one was paying attention. Now that everyone is, we want to say thank you.”
Outkast is celebrating their 20th anniversary this year by headlining festivals around the world, Since the announcement of their return to the stage, much speculation has been made about whether the duo would eventually reveal plans to appropriately pay homage to their hometown. Now, the official confirmation has been made #ATLast.
Public on-sale begins Wednesday, June 18 at 10am EST via Ticketmaster.
Additionally, a dedicated website has been launched to provide the most current show information as additional announcements are made: www.outkastatlast.com.
