Mother’s Day is fastly approaching and instead of trying to sell last-minute pieces for the special holiday; The Candies Foundation decided to honor Actress Vanessa Hudgens for her courageous role in “Gimme Shelter”, The Bachelor’s Sean Lowe on his public vow of pre-martial celibacy, MTV’s Maci Bookout on her continued social media activism to educate America’s youth about the devastating consequences of teen pregnancy.
The event was held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 on The National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy with founder of The Candie’s Foundation Neil Cole. The day was a celebration of people who actually work towards helping students understand the impact unplanned pregnancies can have on their lives. The Candie’s Foundation is a national non-profit organization that works to educate the way youth in America think about teen pregnancy and parenthood. The Foundation develops compelling campaigns to raise awareness and educate teens.

The Candie’s Foundation is doing tons of work helping girls know the real deal about teenage pregnancy. With the advent of MTV’s Teen Mom I thought teen pregnancy was much better. Honestly at 30; Teen Mom scares the mess out of me. Teen Mom might help some girls but there are so many girls falling into teenage pregnancy. According to statistics 80 teens are getting pregnant per hour; that’s 244,880 girls this year!
