Today is the last day that people can sign up for the Black Girls Run!/Drive to End Hunger and there are only 10k spots available, as the 5k sold out!
Pretty Girls of Atlanta please consider supporting this awesome movement. Black Girls Run is a wonderful organization that defy the terrible stereotypes related to black women and exercise. Black Girls run preach wellness by having its members focus on maintaining a healthy weight versus worrying about.
How many of us have used our hair as an excuse not to exercise? How many of use our busy lifestyles as an excuse not to exercise? According to the CDC 4 out of 5 African American women are either overweight/obese.
According to BGR Atlanta Ambassador Adrienne White “I would love for the CDC to take a survey at the end of this year to see have those results changed because of BLACK GIRLS RUN! They say that black women do not sweat, have you seen us on a 90 degree day? They say that black women do not run. What will they say on September 16th when we show up and show out?”
